A little bit about us...
We are the choir that fits around your life! Our membership style is designed to work with you; no auditions are required before you join and absolutely anyone is welcome to come along and sing! We don't ask you to pay up front for a month, a term, or a year, and we don't charge you a re-joining fee if you haven't been for a few months. You simply pay for each session, as and when you attend (£5).
There are many excellent choirs in the local area, catering to a whole range of musical tastes, but if you haven't yet found the one for you, perhaps we can offer you what you're looking for.
When do you meet?
Rehearsals are on Thursday mornings from 10.30am to 12noon.
Where do you meet?
Rehearsals take place at Trowbridge Town Hall in the town centre. Numerous buses stop on Market Street right outside the Town Hall, and the Castle Place shopping centre, just behind the Town Hall, offers free parking for two hours.
Who is the choir for?
The choir is for absolutely anybody who loves to sing! Whilst children are very welcome at concerts and social events, rehearsals are for adults only (children over 8 may attend).
No childcare is provided at rehearsals.
Do I need to have experience?
We don't hold auditions to join the choir, and you don't have to be able to sing to any particular level - you also don't need to be able to read music. The choir welcomes a whole mixture of members: those who have been in choirs previously, those who have only ever sung in the shower, some who do not read music...all different abilities.
What do you sing?
We sing arrangements of pop songs (old and new), themes from musicals, the odd folk-song or well-known classical piece and popular classics at Christmas. Check out the Music tab to see what's planned for this term.
How much does it cost?
The weekly charge is £5. There is no yearly or termly charge - pay as you go!
Do you perform?
We host concerts at the end of the Spring and Autumn terms, to which your family and friends are warmly invited to hear all the songs you have been learning.

Meet the Director
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Michelle has been directing community choirs for over 13 years. Most recently she founded and currently directs the Bath City Singers & West Wiltshire Singers, and prior to these the Edinburgh City Singers and Oxford City Singers, both each now one of the largest community choirs in their respective areas.
Michelle prides herself on how welcoming and accommodating her choirs are, and also on the wide selection of music that they cover - a rehearsal can take you from Katy Perry to Gustav Holst in just 20 minutes!
Meet the Repetiteur
From 1985 until 1994, David held positions at the Reykjavik School of Singing, Suzuki organization of Iceland, Icelandic opera and director of music at the Catholic Cathedral of Reykjavik. As an accompanist he travelled abroad accompanying Icelandic musicians and choirs in Italy, Norway and Sweden.
In 1994, he moved to Hong Kong and apart from a brief period back in Iceland was resident there until 2015. His work as a free lance teacher and accompanist has involved him as a performer at most major venues in the city with performers both local and visiting from youngest beginners up to prize winning artists. He has made a number of recordings with RTHK (radio television Hong Kong), worked with many diploma students at the Academy for Performing Arts and done recital work with members of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.
After 20 years of city life in Hong Kong, David relocated to his rural roots in the west of England to continue his accompaniment and teaching work in the area.
He has accompanied leading instrumentalists, the most recent being Stuart King, one of the top clarinetists in the UK.
